Golden Blue

As mentioned on the previous tutorial, I wanted to do a look using gold and blue eyeshadow. I think the beautiful gold eyeshadow compliments the blue eyesadow nicely. It helps when blue and yellow are complimentary colors too ๐Ÿ˜‰

This look will work well for those who don’t like to put dark shadows on the lower lid. The gold eyeshadow really opens up the eyes. The blue liner on the waterline also helps to make the white part of the eyes look whiter. This will look great on any eye colors.

How-to:

1. I applied Smashbox 24k eyeshadow on the eyelid using a flat eyeshadow brush.

2. Using another flat eyeshadow brush, I applied MAC Birds and Berries on the outer half of the lid.

3. Using a flat eyeshadow brush, I applied L‘oreal Infallible eyeshadow in All Night Blue on the outer V and a tiny bit on the crease.

4. Using a clean blending brush, I blended the darkest blue towards the gold and blended the crease. Add more blue eyeshadow to make it as dark as you like.

5. I lined my waterline using MAC Technakohl liner in Auto-de-Blu and stamped L’oreal All Night Blue infallible eyeshadow on top of the liner using an angled eyeliner brush.

6. Using a clean angled eyeliner brush, I applied Smashbox 24k eyeshadow along the lower lashline.

7. Using the same angled brush, I applied Smashbox Sienna eyeshadow on the outer half of the lower lashline.

8. I created a winged liner along the upper lashline using Clinique Gel Liner in black and a small angled eyeliner brush.

9. I filled in my brows using Anastasia Brow Powder in Brunette.

10. I curled my lashes and applied Maybelline Volum Express Turbo mascara on both top and bottom lashes.

11. For the face, I applied Giorgio Armani Silk foundation using MAC Stippling Brush. Stippled it on my face for an airbrush finish.

12. For the cheeks, I applied MAC Cubic blush along my cheekbones.

13. For the lips, I applied L’occitane clear lipgloss since my lips are uber chapped. Blot the excess so it’s not sticky and gooey.

Opposites

Hello beauties! Today’s tutorial is something simple and to be honest I did this look just because I wanted to play with some colors. As you all know, I’ve quite a collection of the lovely L’oreal Laย  Couleur Infallible eyeshadows. FYI, it’s not available in Indonesia. I received mine from L’oreal Canada and they hold a special place in my makeup kit…hahaha..cheesy, much…

I do wish that L’oreal Indonesia can start selling these gems. I mean, the eyeshadows are amaaaazing! You can apply them dry of wet. I think so far, I’ve about 12 infallible eyeshadows. If I were still in Canda, I’d definitely bought more…:P

Tutorials using the infallible eyeshadows are Icy Blue, L’oreal Infallible in Bronzed Taupe, Sweet Plums , Pretty in Pink and Purple, Carrie Underwood Allure Cover and L’oreal Infallible tutorial.

For the tutorial, I wanted to pair colors that are warm and also cold. I want something bright and dark, but at the same time I want this to be wearable. The colors on the eyelids are warm and bright, while those on the lower lid is darker. I think this might work well for those who have monolids. The colors on the upper lids are bright, thus allowing the eyes to look bigger, while the colors on the lower lid is darker and more intense to play up with a smoky look.

I find the gold/blue combination on the lower lid is quite pretty, and I might do a tutorial on that.

Anyways! Let’s get the tutorial started ๐Ÿ™‚

How-t0:

1. Using a flat eyeshadow brush, I applied L’oreal Infallible eyeshadow in Forever Pink on the inner half of the lid.

2. Using another flat eyeshadow brush (or the same one but cleaned), I applied L’oreal Infallible eyeshadow in Pepsy Coral on the outer half of the lid.

3. Using an angled eyeliner brush, I applied Smashbox 24k eyeshadow on the inner corner of the lower lid and L’oreal Infallible eyeshadow in All Night Blue on the outer half of the lower lid. I used a pencil brush to blend the shadows ‘ edge.

4. Using L’oreal Voluminous Smoldering eyeliner, I applied it on the tightline and waterline.

5. Using an angled eyeliner brush, I applied MAC Black Tied eyeshadow along the upper lashline just to make my lashes look thicker.

6. I curled my lashes and applied L’oreal Curl Impact Collagen mascara on the upper and lower lashes.

7. I filled my lashes in with Anastasia Brow Powder in Brunette, and applied Anastasia highlighter under my brows.

11. Top it all off with Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Charmed.

L’oreal La Couleur Infallible

I received a pack of 9 eyeshadows by L’oreal last week in the mail! Thanks again, L’oreal Canada. Now, even though this is a sponsored post, I will let you know how I feel honestly about this product. I have yet to try it on, so I shall not comment on how long the eyeshadows last. I will, however, mention that this is by far one of the most pigmented eyeshadows/pigments I have ever used. I will try to post a tutorial tonight or tomorrow using these products.

What I like the most about this product is the way it comes. I’m unsure as how I should call this eyeshadows. They are kinda like loose pigments, yet they are packaged in a way that it’s like a compact eyeshadow. This product is very similar to Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill eyeshadows. It’s basically a densely packed pigments! I love the fact that it’s super pigmented without being all over the place because they’re not loose pigments. Point is, they are awesome little products that won’t make much mess! ๐Ÿ™‚

The texture is like cream eyeshadow, but once applied it’s like a compact/powder eyeshadow. It’s very shimmery, yet the shimmer is not overpowering.

I shall comment on the blendability and lasting power on my next post.

I did not do any swatch because whatever the colour you see on the container, that’s what you will get. Also, I received 9 colours, but this product line actually consists of 11 colours. The 2 colours that I was missing were: Eternal Black and Endless Chocolate. I might get those 2 myself later on.

The 9 colours are:

Permanent Kaki (olive green), Unlimited Sky (light blue), Hourglass Beige (golden beige)

Flashback Silver (silver), Purple Obsession (purple), Burning Black (maroon)

Time Resist White (vanilla white), All Night Blue (deep navy), Forever Pink (rosy pink)

Price is pretty good for the amount of product that you get ($10 for 3.5g, compared to $20 for 4.5g from MAC). You can find this in Shopper’s Drug Mart in Canada.
