Givency Noir Interedit Macara Review

It’s been a while since I last wrote in the blog, so I’m excited to be able to take part in this little review. Thank you Givenchy for sending me the Givenchy Noir Interedit Mascara for a review. As always, even though this mascara was sent to me as part of PR consideration, I just want to say that my review is honest and is based on my personal experience.

If you want to see how this mascara works on my straight Asian lashes, keep reading below!

givenchy noir interedit honest review

First thing first, this mascara is unlike those in the market at the moment. When you open it, you’ll realize that the brush looks different than most mascara. It almost looks like a hair brush! I’ve used something similar in Japan but it had less bristle than this Givenchy’s.

Anyways, enough of my rambling. Going back to the Givenchy Noir Interedit mascara – this mascara promised an eyelash extension effect, which means length and volume. It has a bendable brush head to make it easier for you to apply your mascara, and to reach those little ones in the corner.

The bendable part is quite interesting and pretty neat idea. I don’t usually bend my mascara brush when applying my own makeup, nor on models, but I’ve known several makeup artist who do this. For me, the bendable brush doesn’t really make much difference, but still is a pretty cool idea nevertheless.

In terms of scents, this mascara does have a pretty strong perfume smell. I don’t love it, but I don’t hate it either.

Let’s get down to business and be real. My Asian eyelashes are straight and long. It does not matter what mascara I used, if I don’t curl my lashes with heat first, they will not curl on their own. So, for this review, I’ve curled my lashes using a heated eyelash curler prior to mascara application.

The first time I ever tried this mascara, I applied it straight away after I curl my lashes. Usually this is pretty effective with quick dry mascara, to lock the curl in place. However, this is not the case with Givenchy Noir Interedit mascara. This mascara is not that wet, so I don’t know why my lashes didn’t stay curled up when I applied it the first time. Honestly, I can see my lashes went straight as soon as I apply the mascara.

So, for the 2nd time round and consequently, I decided to curl my lashes first and let it cool down for a while. It took me about 45min before I actually applied the mascara, and it kinda work. This mascara does promised length and volume, so I didn’t expect much curling factor in it. No curling power whatsoever.

Due to the nature of my eyelashes, if my lashes don’t stayed curled up, you won’t be able to see the length and volume result from the mascara, especially when my eyes are open.

As you can see from the picture below, the mascara does added extra length to my lashes, but the difference is not that noticeable. Also, this is not a waterproof mascara, and since I tend to get oily around the eye area, this mascara smudged along my lower lids after 2 hours.

The mascara is not clumpy and it actually does a pretty good job in separating the lashes. I love using it on my lower lashes!

However, I’m sad to say that this mascara does not work for me, unfortunately.
