Hey all! Today, for another instalment of my Holiday Makeup series, I’m doing a black smoky eyes with gold liner, which is paired with a dark red lips. I know, I know, this is totally out of my usual routine, but I thought why not? You can always just take one of the features and leave the rest out (i.e. keep the smoky eyes and leave the dark lips, or wear the dark lips without the smoky eyes).

Can I mention, I really like how my eyebrows look for this look? If you haven’t check out my brows tutorial, please do check it out HERE! Since this black smoky eyes with gold liner is really dark and puts the attention on the eyes, I want to keep my brows quite natural and not too dramatic.

Oh, the one thing I want to mention, this KVD Gould Lightning Liner is very water so it makes it very easy to apply. However, if the liner doesn’t pop on your first go, let it dry first and then re-apply. If you don’t let it dry, the first layer will get picked up and it won’t stick properly on the lid. I have to re-apply this liner twice to make the gold really shines through.

For the lips, I wasn’t sure which colour I wanted to pair it with at first. Usually, I’d paired this look with a nude lips, but I think this look looks really great with a dark red lips.

I’m pairing this Black Smoky eyes with Gold Liner with Colourpop LAX Ultra Matte Lips. This shade is a really dark blackened red. You’ll have to exfoliate & moisturize your lips really well if you are going to use colourpop liquid lipstick. It’s very drying on the lips, and if you don’t exfoliate the product will cling to the dry skin & it’ll become patchy!
